Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. - 2 Corinthians 7:1

Have you noticed how easily you and I can so quickly get tangled up in this crazy world?  Just when you think you've got your sin 'under control' it pops it's ugly head up and pushes you directly into a slime filled pit.   Often times we tend to tiptoe around sin and think we can manage and control our sin nature when in reality what we are really doing is playing with something that is far worse than the bubonic plague.  According to Romans 6:23 the payment for messing around with sin is death.

You see, what Jesus is offering is life, furthermore, He is offering us adoption into HIS eternal family.  In order to see the above scripture in the best light, we have to read what was before it.

Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,  and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:17-18

You see God tells us to separate ourselves from unclean, sinful things.  God cannot be in the presence of sin.  I mean think about God the Father turned his back on his own son when he took our sin on the cross, why would we think he would cut us any slack for our sin?  But looks what happens when we follow God's mandate for our lives.

'I will WELCOME YOU, and I WILL BE A FATHER TO YOU...'

How awesome is that?  How game changing is that?  That's earth shattering. Why would we not want that?  You see Jesus does not NEED us!  But he WANTS us!  That is so big!

So as a result of this promise from God it should cause all of us to want to repent of our sinful natures and run to the Father.  Why?  Because he has the best lined up for us.  He wants to us to see holiness brought to fruition in our lives!

I'm telling you this is so much beyond what you and I could ever want, imagine, or need!

Because of Jesus, we have a future and we have HOPE!  You can't beat that!
