Today for a little bit I was thinking about finding freedom...and then I got a text...
When we love people it changes things.
I know that is something that really sounds very surface level, but it's the truth.
Wednesday night I shared a thought with a group of people and I said 'God has called us to love our enemies...and I know that's a difficult thing to do. Because most of the time we wanna punch our enemy in the throat.' And then I said 'Next time you think about it...you should do something nice for your enemy . Buy them food or something.' Man, when you're showing love to your enemy it's hard to hate them.
Well a friend of mine was at the talk I gave...and he text me and said 'I just bought my enemy a pizza...' How cool is that?!
Well, guess what?
Doing that totally set that guy free. I love seeing that happen! When we attempt to be like Jesus we find a great amount of freedom! That's the double sided goal. A. Be like Jesus B. Find freedom. (Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Cor 3:17)
Next time you're feeling angry at someone or you have a desire to take revenge on someone for something stupid they did in your life go out and buy them food and send a message of LOVE to them. It will set you free!
